hermes, also known as mercury in roman mythology, is the god of communication, athletics, thievery, trade, and border crossings. he is responsible for delivering messages between mortals and gods, and he has frequent access to places like the underworld. he is the second youngest out of all the olympians and has had many consorts, taking after his father zeus.
